A 34-year-old woman with a history of two C-sections presented with a lower abdominal wall mass. CT scan showed a 3.5 cm lesion arising in the right lower anterior rectus sheath consistent with a desmoid tumor. There appeared to be a plane between the rectus sheath and the underlying muscle. .

Because of the small size, no preliminary biopsy was taken, and the patient was taken to the operating room for resection of a presumed desmoid.

A 2-cm skin margin was marked around the palpable tumor, and the dissection was carried down to fascia.
