On occasion it is recommended to back up tibial fixation. A staple or low profile screw and washer (shown here) are good options.

The washer was seated in final position just distal to the tibial tunnel entrance. The wounds were irrigated and closed in layers. A postoperative rehabilitation brace may be employed at the surgeon's discretion. Weight bearing as tolerated may be allowed, and an aggressive ACL rehabilitation program is instituted.
