In 15% of individuals, the right hepatic artery bows out close (< 1 cm) to the infundibulum of the gallbladder and is called a caterpillar hump right hepatic.

A large caterpillar hump right hepatic artery is seen after the cystic duct and cystic artery have been clipped and divided and the infundibulum is elevated.
