The bougie was re-advanced into the stomach, and the first suture of double armed 2-0 PTFE was passed through the stomach to the left of the EG junction. A bite of the esophagus and finally the fundus to the right of the esophagus completed the first stitch.

A dacron pledget was placed on the needle of the second arm of the suture, the needle was passed into the abdomen, and a parallel three part stitch was placed.

A second pledget was placed on the free ends of the suture and the suture tied. Clips were placed on the tails of the suture for security. A second single stitch was placed below the first. The wrap was elevated with a blunt grasper to check for laxity.
