The right and left limbs of the esophageal crura were clearly visualized to their base with the esophagus retracted to the left. Note the posterior vagus left posteriorly in the V of the crura.

A #58 Maloney dilator was passed orally as a bougie to size the esophagus for a loose wrap. The nasogastric tube was left in place. No tension was placed on the esophagogasrtic (EG) junction as the bougie was passed, and the junction was kept under direct vision during passage.
