The gastrojejunostomy was visualized and the mobility of the tumor assessed.

The tumor was fixed to the underside of the left lobe of the liver and to the adjacent diaphragm. It was the patient's wish that no heroic surgery be attempted if the tumor were not clearly resectable. It was elected to proceed with a palliative feeding jejunostomy.
