The lateroconal fascia is adherent to transversalis fascia, and may be left in its posterior position by hugging the underside of the parietal peritoneum during mobilization.

The right ureter was exposed as it crossed the iliac vessels (see renal anatomytotal colectomy, hysterectomy), and followed proximally.
