A 64-year-old patient presented with a history of rectal bleeding. Colonoscopy revealed a partially circumferential lesion with a bleeding ulcerated center at 18cm from the anal verge.

CT scan showed the sigmoid carcinoma and showed enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes. No liver lesions were demonstrated.

The patient was positioned in stirrups in a leg extended position. The surgeon and first assistant stood on either side and the second assistant stood between the legs.
