The SFPVs were exposed first. A longitudinal thigh incision was made over the lateral border of the sartorius muscle, extending from the level of the pubis to the knee.
Since the segmental blood supply of the sartorius muscle enters on the medial side, the sartorius was mobilized along its lateral border and retracted into the medial incision. The femoral vessels were exposed within the adductor canal by incising the overlying fascial roof.
