The 12mm port sites are closed with vicryl suture. The end of the drain is brought through the left lateral port. The other port sites are closed with absorbable suture. The patient is kept NPO overnight, started on lovenox and ambulation. Post-op day 1 the patient has a gastrografin swallow, followed by barium to check for leaks at the gastrojejunal anastomosis. Once this is complete, the patient is started on clear liquids. Patients are discharged home once they can drink enough to keep themselves hydrated.
