The margins of the proposed dissection are shown, extending from pubic tubercle medially to anterior superior iliac spine laterally, and from the apex of the femoral triangle caudally to 6 cm above the the inguinal ligament cephalad. The lazy-S incision is marked.

The superficial dissection includes the femoral triangle, bounded by the inguinal ligament, sartorius and adductor longus, and extends several centimeters cephalad of the inguinal ligament.
