The ureter of the donor kidney, the most posterior structure of the renal hilum, was identified on the psoas muscle and encircled with a vessel loop (yellow). The ureter was dissected as far distal as possible, and back to the kidney, leaving a cuff of surrounding fat to preserve the intrinsic blood supply.

The renal vein was encircled with a vessel loop (blue) to complete mobilization of the kidney with a long vascular pedicle.
