The patient showed no signs of resolution after a brief period of observation and was taken to the operating room where a small central midline laparotomy incision was made. A single band from the tip of a large Meckel's diverticulum was found and lysed.

The point of obstruction adjacent to the Meckel's is shown. The Meckel's was pliable and without evidence of ectopic tissue on palpation. It was not resected. The gallbladder was left in situ.
