The small bowel was reanastomosed with a functional end to end anastomosis. The first staple line opening and uniting the antemesenteric borders is shown.

After the first staple lines were checked for hemostasis, the open ends of the bowel were sealed, again using the linear stapler (other option, transverse, non-cutting stapler).
