On post-operative day 5, abdominal CT scan showed pelvic fluid collections consistent with abscess. The multiple loculations mitigated against percutaneous drainage. The patient was taken to the operating room where open drainage of the pelvis abscesses was performed. The skin wound was left open to heal by secondary intention. The patient defervesced and resolved his ileus and was discharged three days following his second operation.
