The patient underwent virtual colonoscopy, which shows the proximal descending colon deviating into the hernia defect.

The hernia is shown from the posterior view. Since the patient was asymptomatic, and in view of the patient’s limited pulmonary reserve and the magnitude of any attempted repair, it was elected to not recommend repair. The patient has done well without complications at 6-month follow up.
