In this case, the Hartmann's pouch was quite low. It was easily removed with the mucosal sleeve at this point.

If this case were a primary pull-through without a colostomy, the colon would be pulled out through the opening and the mesentery divided as it appeared. A biopsy would be taken at the suspected location, and lack of ganglion cells confirmed by frozen section.
